Our Past Friends

I found Miller in New Orleans. She was abandoned and thrown away to fend for herself at two months old...very sick and not knowing if she would survive. Not only did she survive but Miller thrived! She was so beautiful, smart and sassy and had a twinkle in her eyes when she was up to no good...she never grew past her digging stage. She loved to ride with the UPS truck in our neighborhood. He would stop for her and she would make neighborhood deliveries with him and he would drop her back off as he was leaving. Miller was one in a million and I wouldn't change a day with her! She was a wonderful companion. I miss her

I met Beaux when he was four years old and he had a rough day everyday for those four years. He was found on the streets of New Orleans very skittish and so afraid of everyone but had such a sweet and gentle soul about him. So eager to please and learn and just to be with kind people. He transformed with time. His personality began to grow and Beaux became more confident and secure. Loved going on walks and actually meeting new people! Still very shy and timid but loved meeting a friendly person! Beaux gave me a better understanding of compassion and empathy and he gave me a great friend that I miss everyday! He would be so happy it looked like he was smiling!

Witt was our first dog and family member. He touched us in such a way that only a kind hearted, loving dog can. Everyone he was in contact with felt the some way. We love you.

"Rainbow Bridge"

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
